Wishin' I was Fishin'

 

 
  Please read over all instructions before starting.

SUPPLIES:

  • Canoe
  • Fish (3)
  • Sun rays
  • 19 gauge wire
  • Sun face
  • Sawtooth hanger
  • TOOLS:

    • Wire cutters
    • Drill (we suggest using the Zona Mini Hand Drill #RS120 and the #DB19A bit for 19 gauge wire)
    • Toothpick
    • Paint brushes
    • Waterproof felt tip pen (we suggest Pigma Pens)

    HOW TO:

    1) Follow painting instructions below

    2) With the waterproof pen, draw the 'stitch lines' and mouth on the sun. Write the words "Wishin' I was Fishin'!" on the canoe.

    3) Drill small holes in the canoe and sun for wire.

    4) Cut two 5" pieces of wire and wrap around your pen to curl. These pieces attach to the sun and the canoe.

    5) Cut three 2" pieces of wire and wrap around the toothpick. These pieces attach the fish to the canoe.

    6) Hot glue the metal hanger onto the back of the sun. (you can also make your own 'hanger' with a loop of wire and hot glue.

    7) Admire your handiwork!

    PAINTING (all paints are by Delta):

    1) Paint canoe with Spice Brown (#2063).

    2) Paint sun rays and sun circle Bright Yellow (#2027).

    3) Paint the bottom third of the fish with Rose Cloud (#2450) and the top 2/3 with English Yew Green (#2095). Lightly fleck the Rose Cloud fish bellies with the English Yew Green. Float Bouquet Pink (#2132) along the Rose Cloud to give the fish dimension.

    4) Dip the end of your brush or toothpick into Black (#2506) and make dots for the sun and fish eyes.

    5) Using a dry brush lightly pounce Rose Cloud (#2450) onto the sun's cheeks.

    6) Finish with varnish
