Product Note
Patio Paint is a self-sealing exterior paint. No prior preparation is needed when working on wood. For other surfaces, follow directions on label. Patio Paints may be used on all porous surfaces such as concrete, terra cotta, wood, plaster, etc. Because of the self-sealing agents, they do not require a varnish upon completion. Transferring Patterns Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Slip graphite paper between the tracing and the surface. Tape to secure. Trace with a pencil to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried. Techniques Float: Load brush in water or floating medium. Pat excess on paper towel. Dip one corner of brush in color. Blend color through brush on palette. Color should go from heavy on the loaded side to nothing on the opposite corner, graduating through bristles. This is most commonly used to shade and highlight. Stipple: Load old fluffy brush in color. Wipe off excess on paper towel. Use up-and-down patting motion on surface. Dot: Use wooden end of brush handle, toothpick, stylus or any round object, depending on size of dot desired. Instructions 1. Transfer pattern to sled. 2.
