Spring Door Hanger


 

Materials Needed:



3/8” flat brush
Sand paper
Saw
Scissors
Spanish moss
Wood buttons
Wood door sign
Wood pieces from Craftwood: (1) 1” x 1/8” and (1) 1-¾” x 3/16” gingerbread boys; 1-¼” x 3/16” sunflower; small and large primitive hearts; 1-15/16” x 1-7/8” flower pot
Wood skewers

 

Instructions:

For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Cut wood flowerpot with saw in half from top to bottom. Clip "stems" from wooden skewers (about 4” each).
2. Base coat front and back of door sign Maize. Use brush to paint Buttercream checks on sign.
3. Paint flowerpot with Deep Peach. Paint large flower with Medium Lavender. Paint stems and leaves with Dusty Green. Paint medium size flower with Primrose and small flower with Rose Petal. Paint both buttons with Buttercream. Use a wooden skewer tip to draw a vein on each leaf.
4. Sand edges of each wood piece for a distressed look.
5. Glue Spanish moss into pot. Glue stems to door sign. Glue pot over stems. Glue large button to large flower and glue to door sign. Glue Rose Petal center to Primrose flower. Glue small button to center and glue to door sign. Position leaves and glue in place.
6. For a protective finish, apply Matte Varnish to entire piece
