- Trace or draw patterns for
each ball onto white paper. Cut out shapes for easier transferring to
cork. Use a pencil to draw circle and lines. Pencil marks can then be
erased.
- Baseball Coaster: Cut cork
into a circle using scissors. (Tip: Use a saucer for the round pattern).
Using a cosmetic sponge, pounce on white background. When the white paint
is dry, draw stitching seam lines onto ball using a pencil. (Use a glass
for the curved pattern). Draw the stitches in with red marker. Define the
stitch line with a black marker.
- Soccer Ball Coaster: Cut cork
into a circle using scissors. Sponge on white background. When dry, trace
pattern using transfer paper. Use ¼” brush to paint in black spots. (Note:
Black spots are 5-sided, white spots are 6-sided). Darken seam lines with
the black marker.
- Football Coaster: Cut cork
into football shape with scissors. Sponge on golden brown background. When
dry, trace pattern using transfer paper. With a flat brush, paint stripes
and stitches white. Use a black marker to detail seam lines.
- Basketball Coaster: Cut cork
into circle using scissors. Sponge on burnt sienna background. When dry,
trace on seam lines using transfer paper. Use a black marker to draw on
seam lines. Erase any excess pencil lines.
