PREPARATION
Sand all wood; wipe clean. Apply Heavenly Hues Blissful Beige to the wings. Mix Heavenly Hues Country Blue and White Cloud in equal parts for a soft blue color. Apply this mixture to the angel body/head. Let dry, then sand lightly with a paper bag.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Basecoat face with Flesh Tone, shade on outer edges with French Mocha. Eyes are based with Lamp (Ebony) Black, with a highlight float of Light French Blue along the left side, then a float of Titanium (Snow) White along the bottom edge. Using the stylus, double dot top and single dot bottom with Titanium (Snow) White. Nose is made by floating French Mocha above the nose mark. Lips are based with French Mocha Shade the top lip with Brandy Wine and highlight the lower lip with Flesh Tone. Eyebrows are Mink Tan. For cheeks, dampen area, then lightly pounce into it with French Mocha.

2. Birdhouses on body from left to right: Birdhouse #1 - Base with French Mocha, shade under roof and up bottom sides with Brandy Wine. Birdhouse #2 - Base with Camel, shade under roof and up bottom sides with Burnt Umber. Small house is based with Mink Tan; shade under roof with Burnt Umber. Pole connecting small house to large house is Mink Tan. Pull Burnt Umber as shade under house. Birdhouse #3 - Base with Light French Blue, shade under roof and up bottom sides with Uniform Blue. On All Birdhouses: Roofs and holes are based with Lamp (Ebony) Black and highlighted with Titanium (Snow) White. Perches are stylus dots of Lamp (Ebony) Black.

3. Branches under Birdhouses: Base with Mississippi Mud, drybrush on Mink Tan, shade with Burnt Umber. Pull the branches out with Mississippi Mud on the tip of the Liner. Here and there, pull lines of Burnt Umber for a variation in the branches. Leaves are done with Antique Green and Dried Basil Green and the #6 Filbert Brush.

4. Bees: Body is based with Camel, stripes are Burnt Umber. Float titanium White for the wings. Shade under bees with Uniform Blue on dress area and Burnt Umber on wing area.

5. On Wings: Branches are Mississippi Mud with Burnt Umber pulled here and there. Leaves are done with the #6 Filbert using Antique Green and Dried Basil Green. Don’t put too many leaves on this section, since it might distract from the focal point of the dress. Shade the edges next to the angel’s body and the bottom edges with Burnt Umber.

6. Hanging birdhouses on wings: Basecoat left one with Dried Basil Green, shade with burnt Umber under roof and up bottom sides. Basecoat right one with Flesh Tone, shade with French Mocha under roof and up bottom sides. Both roofs are based with Lamp (Ebony) Black and highlighted with Titanium (Snow) White. Perches are stylus dots of Lamp (Ebony) Black.

7. Hand is based with Flesh tone and shaded with French Mocha. Sign is based with Mink Tan. Writing is Lamp Black with stylus dots on the ends of each letter. Branches are Burnt Umber with Antique Green leaves.

8. Clouds are done as floats of Titanium (Snow) White. Shade behind them with Uniform Blue here and there, just to deepen the effect. On dress, shade under head on corners, bottom and up bottom edges with Uniform Blue.

9. On all pieces, sides are done with Burnt Umber. Sign piece, then varnish with Matte Varnish.

FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
Drill wings and each hanging birdhouse for the thickness of wire you are using. (I doubled up the wire, then twisted it for a heavier look.) Glue on hand, then position sign, making sure it doesn’t cover tallest birdhouse. Glue Spanish moss on head for hair, then attach a grapevine wreath as the halo. If you want to hang her, attach a hanger to the back before attaching hand.
