Marble Topped Column

Instructions

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Apply two coats of Black to entire column and allow to dry.

2. On a palette, prepare a mix of 50/50 Black and water. Add a few drops of Brush 'n Blend Extender. Prepare a second mix as above with White Wash.

3. Use the feather to draw a transversal line on the upper part of the piece. Apply a good quantity of the Black mix, then add a few drops of the White Wash mix, using the feather. Immediately blow through the straw so that different colors run into each other.

4. Repeat the same procedure to draw other main streaks on the top and base of the column. Using the same technique, draw little streaks that are irregular in size and direction. Let dry thoroughly.

5. Place a few drops of Venetian Gold Dazzling Metallics on the palette. Slightly load the brush and work on the palette so the paint gets into every hair of the brush. Place the brush in a horizontal position and drybrush (lightly skim) over some of the raised areas of the column. Let dry. Repeat with Glorious Gold Dazzling Metallics, drybrushing around, but not covering, the previous coat of Venetian Gold.

6. When dry, add a protective finish with several coats of Matte Spray.
