PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
FRUIT 1. With #12 shader, paint one pear bronze. After dry, divide into eight equal sections. Paint every other section with Brilliant Silver. Let dry. Wet cotton rag and apply small amount of Shimmering Silver across entire surface. Rub to create glazed effect. Attach small amount of paper twist for stem. 2. Paint one pear Pewter. Mix Decorating Paste with small amount of Glorious Gold. Apply in 1/4" circular dabs, spaced equally apart, covering pear. Paint each dab with Royal Gold. Let dry. With 1:1 mix of Bronze and water, apply with cotton rag and remove excess. Let dry. 3. Paint one apple Pewter. After dry, rub a small amount of Bronze with damp rag along surface. Let dry. Divide apple into eight equal sections. Paint alternating sections with Royal Gold. Let dry. Rub surface with damp rag and small amount of Shimmering Silver, removing excess. Attach paper wire twist for stem. 4. Paint one apple with Glorious Gold. After dry, use #12 brush with water to apply wavy strokes of Pewter. While wet, apply smaller strokes of Bronze. Sponge entire surface with 1:1 mix of Royal Gold and water. Blot dry. Add highlights of Glorious Gold to streaks. Add paper twist stem. 5. Paint surface of 2-1/2" doll head bead Shimmering Silver. Make 1/2" line spiraling around surface until it forms a point at the top. Paint spiral with Royal Gold. Let dry. 6. For one large ball, wet paper towels and apply with watery glue to surface, crinkling and flattening as you work around surface. After dry, paint surface with Bronze. When dry, sponge Shimmering Silver lightly all over surface. When dry, apply small amounts of Royal Gold around ball, smearing edges of paper towel. 7. Paint another large ball with Glorious Gold. When dry, mark out four equal diamonds across surface, stretching from top center point to bottom center point. Paint negative areas Buttermilk; let dry. Sponge surface with Pewter, smudging pattern randomly with rag. Apply small amount of Bronze with damp rag, rubbing all over surface. Let dry. 8. Paint surface of third large ball Glorious Gold. When dry, mark out small diamonds all across surface, spacing equally. Paint diamonds Brilliant Silver. When dry, accent each point of diamonds with dots of Royal Gold. Let dry. Rub 1:1 mix of Pewter and water across entire surface with a rag. Remove excess. When dry, repeat. 9. Paint surface of egg with Glorious Gold. When dry, use liner to paint small veins of Buttermilk, smudging occasionally with rag. Dip a damp rag into a small amount of Buttermilk; rub across surface to create uneven patterns. Let dry. TRAY 1. Paint tray with Glorious Gold. When dry, paint rim and back with coat of Royal Gold. 2. Mark harlequins in center of tray. Paint alternating ones with Shimmering Silver. Let dry. 3. On every other gold diamond, repeat same procedure with Bronze. Add dab of Royal Gold to each corner of diamonds. Let dry. 4. Use #6 brush to paint Bronze border 1/4" deep across edge of tray, rubbing here and there with rag to create mottled effect. Add a few Shimmering Silver highlights. 5. Paint doll’s heads with Royal Gold. When dry, glue to back four corners. CANDLES Note: Mix all paint 1:1 with Candle Painting Medium. 1. To paint 2" candle, follow instructions for second pear. 2. Use #12 shader to paint 4" candle with Pale Gold. When dry, sponge lightly with Black Pearl. Let dry. Paint Shimmering Silver diamonds around center. Dot each diamond point with Bronze, using brush handle tip. 3. Use #12 shader to paint 6" candle with Royal Gold. When dry, sponge with Champagne, Bronze and Black Pearl. 4. Sponge surface of 8" candle with Shimmering Silver and Bronze. Let dry. Use #12 shader to paint vertical stripes with Royal Gold. |
