Jolly Snowmen

 

Instructions:

For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Keeping drill straight, drill ½” to ¾” holes in all wood pieces, placing a small amount of Wood Glue into each hole. Clean off any excess glue.
2. Drill a ¼” hole into each “head” ball. For middle sections, drill a ¼” hole into top and bottom. Drill a ¼” hole into top and bottom sections of ball used for lower sections.
3. To attach lower body sections to base, drill three holes in base, being sure to leave enough space for each figure. Place a dowel into each hole in base. Place lower section ball onto dowel. Attach another dowel into next hole and place middle section atop lower section. Continue until each snowperson’s body is complete. Let dry.
4. To make arms, drill small holes for each wire to be inserted. Make loops at the end of the wires for Mr and Mrs. Snow. Place seven wood beads onto each wire for Mr. Snow and five onto each wire for Mrs. Snow. Place nine beads on wire for Boy Snow. Dip wire into Wood Glue and insert into hole. Let dry.
5. Base coat entire wood base and snow people with 2 coats of White. Let dry.
6. To prepare trees, glue a toothpick to the back of each tree with Wood glue. Let dry.
7. Paint each tree, front and back, Deep Green. Let dry.
8. Drill three small holes into base to insert toothpicks. Place a small amount of Wood Glue onto each toothpick and insert.
9. Use a popsicle stick to apply Snow to base and smooth. Let dry.
10. Using Thick Designer Tacky Glue, attach fabric or felt strips for scarves. Make felt hats and glue into place. Glue on buttons. Make a songbook from paper and attach to Mrs. Snow’s arms.
11. Using Thick Designer Tacky Glue, attach raffia to wooden skewer to make a broom and attach to Mr. Snow. Glue earmuffs to each side of his head. Let dry.
12. Squeeze out Black and Orange Tulip paint to create faces.
13. Use a liner brush to apply Black eyelashes to Mrs. Snow.
14. Squeeze out Snow White snowflakes on the base and on the snow family. Let dry.
