Everyone knows how disappointing it is, when you go to nail that fine piece of wood and it splits as you drive the nail in. Well here's a tip for all of you that has experience this problem. Before you drive the nail in the board, turn the nail over and hit the sharp point with your hammer. By doing this it will dull the end and avoid splitting the wood.
