Horses

A woman's place is on a horse...

~~~
...and God took a handful of southerly wind,
blew his breath over it
and created the horse.
~~~

Don't change horses in midstream.

Don't change horses in the middle of the stream.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Don't put the cart before the horse.

~~~
Each leg apart in it's gallop
seems to stream with a rush of speed as though
from a bucket of water poured o'er the field.
~~~

God first made Man.

He thought better of it and made Woman.

When he had time, he made the horse,

which has the courage and spirit of Man

and the beauty and grace of Woman.

~~~
Gone Ridin'....
~~~

Hitching a hackney pony to the Budweiser

wagon won't make him a Clydesdale.

~~~
Horse owners are stable people.
Horse sense is only stable thinking.
If you hear hoof beats in the woods, think horses, not zebras!
 I'm so busy.....I don't know if I just found a rope or lost my horse..!!
~~~

In riding a horse we borrow freedom.

Judge not the horse by his saddle.

Love me...Love my horse.

~~~
My husband said if I don't sell my horses,
he will leave me.
Some days I miss him.
~~~

One cannot shoe a running horse.

~~~
Riding:  the art of keeping a horse between
you and the ground.
~~~

Shoot lower Sheriff.....they're ridin' Shetlands !!

Straight from the horses mouth.

~~~
The air of heaven is that which blows
between a horse's ears.
~~~

The daughter who won't lift a finger in the house

is the same child

who cycles madly off in the pouring rain

to spend all morning mucking out a stable.

~~~
The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man.
The wildest colts make the best horses.
~~~

The world looks wider from the back of a horse.

~~~
There is no secret as that between a rider and his horse.
~~~

Understanding the soul of a horse

is the closest we humans can come to knowing perfection.

~~~
When taking a wife or buying a horse,
close your eyes and command yourself to God.
~~~

Yes, Lord...we will ride ~!!

~~~
You can tell a gelding,
You can ask a stallion,
But you must discuss it with a mare.
~~~

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

You can't teach an old horse to run.
