Fall Bird Feeder


 

Materials Needed:


Aleene's® Craft Foil, gold
Acrylic paints; ivory, sage, poppy, deep beige, orange
1/2” flat brush
Bristle brush
Birdseed
Clay pot, 6"
Clay saucer, 8"
Craft foam
Drill with 1/4" masonry bit
Jute cord
Wood beads with large holes
Wood circles, 3"
Wood wheels or wood doll stand
 

Instructions:

For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Drill hole in center of bottom of saucer.
2. Using Patio & Garden Outdoor Adhesive, glue wood wheels evenly spaced onto inside of saucer, against sides. Let dry.
3. Cut leaves from craft foam. Glue onto the clay pot with Patio & Garden Outdoor Adhesive. Let dry.
4. Paint clay pot and saucer Ivory. Let dry.
5. Drybrush as follows: Dip bristle brush into color, and stroke back and forth on a paper towel until almost no color remains in brush. Stroke lightly on surface of project, slowly building color. Drybrush pot and saucer Sage, Poppy and Deep Beige.
6. Paint wood circles Orange. Drybrush detail Poppy. Let dry.
7. Dab the Poppy, Deep Beige and Sage onto leaf surface. Let dry.
8. Outline with Foiling Glue. Let dry until clear. Place craft foil into the dry glue and remove.
9. Glue prepared wood pumpkins onto clay pot. Let dry.
10. To assemble the bird feeder, cut a length of jute twice the desired length for hanger. Fold in half. Push fold through hole in saucer and through hole in top of clay pot. Thread both ends through wood bead below saucer. Knot rope below saucer and 6-8" above clay pot. Fill with birdseed. Hang by loop at top of pot.
