PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Terra Cotta Pieces
1. Basecoat saucers and rims of pots with Pine Green.

2. For grass, double load #8 shader with Pine Green and Fiesta Yellow. Start at the bottom of the pots, using the flat of your brush and pull up to the chisel to make the blades of grass around the pot. Use the chisel only for some fine blades of grass.

3. Basecoat bee bodies with Fiesta Yellow. Basecoat head with Wrought Iron Black. Using liner, add black squiggle lines for the stripes on the body. With #8 shader, float two Cloud White “c” strokes on each side of the body for wings. Let dry. Line the wings with thinned Wrought Iron Black. Add small comma strokes for antennae.

4. Basecoat ladybug bodies with Geranium Red. Basecoat head with Wrought Iron Black. Using liner, split the body of the flying ladybugs and fill in a small “v” at the bottom of the body with Wrought Iron Black. Add black dots with stylus and small comma strokes for antennae.

5. For lace border on large pot, use 3/4" wash brush corner loaded with Cloud White to float large “c” strokes around rim. Make crosshatches with thinned Cloud White and liner. Add dots around curve with wooden end of brush and a fresh puddle of Cloud White.

6. If desired, coat terra cotta pieces with Clear Coat for added protection and shine.
