Dinosaur bookends

Materials:

• 3 feet of 1 x 6 pine
• Acrylic paints - red, green and yellow
• Brushes
• Waterbase or polyurethane finish
• 2 flat 1/2 inch buttons
• 6 - 1 1/2 inch wood screws
• Sandpaper
• Tacky glue
• Saber saw

Instructions:

Cut two 4 1/2" and two 4" lengths of pine. Butt the 4" pieces against the 4 1/2" pieces to form corners. Glue and screw together through bottom.

Enlarge dinosaur pattern, above. Cut from wood.

Glue legs to each side of bodies. Clamp and let dry.

Center and glue right angle of bodies to bookends. Insert 1 screw through back. Sand, rounding edges.

Paint bookends green and bodies yellow. Mark lower edge of spine; paint spine red.

Apply finish. Glue on buttons for eyes.
