Product Note
Patio Paint is a versatile, durable product designed for outdoor decorating. No sealing or varnishing is required - it's waterproof. Perfect for any hard porous surface, such as wood, plaster, concrete, terra cotta, and more. Patio Paint is non-toxic and easy to use.

Transferring Pattern
Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Tape to secure. Slip graphite paper between the tracing and the surface. Trace with a pencil to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried.

Techniques
Antiquing: Apply paint with large brush; immediately wipe back with paper towel or soft cloth - leave paint in crevices.

Spatter: Thin paint to consistency of cream. Dip old toothbrush into paint, hold brush over surface, and run fingers through toothbrush hairs to release paint.

Preparation: Sand wood if needed, and wipe with a tack cloth.

Instructions for Welcome Sign:
1. Mix paint on palette, and with the 1" wash brush, paint as follows:
a. Face of Board - 2 parts Concrete Grey, 1 part Woodland Brown, and 1 part Clear Coat.
b. Edges - equal parts Concrete Grey, Wrought Iron Black, and Clear Coat.
c. Plaid Areas - equal parts Patio Brick and Clear Coat.

2. For plaid area: Use the #4 shader with Sprout Green and the #1 liner with Sunflower Yellow; paint the horizontal stripes first and vertical stripes last. Let dry.

3. Lightly sand all pieces with fine sandpaper, and wipe with tack cloth.

4. Use Wrought Iron Black for spattering. Use #1 liner and Wrought Iron Black to paint letters.

5. For a glossier finish, apply 2 coats of Clear Coat with the 1" wash brush; allow to dry between coats.

Finishing Instructions for Sign:
1. Antique: with Woodland Brown.

2. Refer to photograph.

Instructions Cabin and Pot:
1. Mix paint, and with the 1" wash brush, paint as follows:
a. Sides - 2 parts Concrete Grey, 1 part Woodland Brown, and 1 part Clear Coat.
b. Roof: equal parts Concrete Grey, Wrought Iron Black, and Clear Coat.
c. Base: equal parts Sprout Green and Clear Coat.

2. For plaid area: See step 2 under Welcome Sign.

3. Lightly sand all pieces with fine sandpaper, and wipe with tack cloth.

4. With 1" wash brush, paint sides of pot with Patio Brick; rim and large stripes with Sprout Green. With #1 liner, paint thin stripes with Sunflower Yellow.

Finishing Instructions for Cabin and Pot:
1. Spatter and paint lettering with Wrought Iron Black. Spatter and paint letters with liner.

2. For a glossier finish use 1" wash brush to apply 2 coats of Clear Coat; allow drying between coats.

3. Use 1" wash brush to antique* with Woodland Brown.

4. Refer to photograph.
