Patio Paint is a self-sealing exterior paint. No prior preparation is needed when working on wood. For other surfaces, follow directions on label. Patio Paints may be used on all porous surfaces such as concrete, terra cotta, wood, plaster, etc. Because of the self-sealing agents, they do not require a varnish upon completion. Transferring Patterns Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Slip graphite paper between the tracing and the surface. Tape to secure. Trace with a pencil to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried. Painting Instructions 1. Use #10 flat shader brush to basecoat entire snowman shape with Cloud White. Let dry, then transfer the pattern onto the shape. 2. Use deerfoot brush to stipple Light Waterfall Blue all along the edges and around the vest. (To Stipple: Load old fluffy brush in color. Wipe off excess on paper towel. Use up-and-down patting motion on the surface.) 3. Stipple Golden Honey on vest and cat shape. 4. Use #4 flat brush to paint birdhouse with Light Waterfall Blue roof with Geranium Red, and checks with Golden Honey. 5. Use detail brush to paint Geranium Red wiggle lines all along vest edges, then use back end of brush to place small dots on Light Waterfall Blue X's and on vest. The birdhouse also has small dots on every other Golden Honey check. 6. Use #4 brush to fill the nose with Golden Honey, then use Geranium Red to shade top side of nose. Use deerfoot brush to add blush to cheeks with Geranium Red. 7. Use detail brush to paint Wrought Iron Black details on faces and buttons. Use black marker for fine line details on cat body. 8. Use deerfoot to stipple Cloud White on cat body. 9. Use glue to adhere all pieces together. Refer to photo for placement. |
