Preparation - Wash with 1:1
mix of water and rubbing alcohol. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
Painting Instructions Rabbit 1. Using 1” flat brush, basecoat entire piece with Golden Honey. Using #6 round brush, paint eye with Wrought Iron Black. 2. Antique, using a 2:1 mix of Woodland Brown and Clear Coat. Apply to entire piece with 1” flat brush. Use slightly moistened sponge to wipe excess color off, leaving color in crevices. Allow to dry. 3. Use a fan brush to dry-brush. Touch tip of brush into Wrought Iron Black. Wipe excess color off onto paper towel. Using very light pressure, skim brush over body to gradually add color. Repeat dry-brushing with Antique Mum, building up lighter color on chest, ears, paws, tail, and face. Dry-brush again with Daisy Cream, concentrating only on tips of ears, tail and paws, nose and eyebrows. 4. Add dry-brushed accents on nose, tips of paws, base of tail, cheeks and inside ears with Foxglove Pink. 5. Using #6 round brush, place a dot of Foxglove Pink at inside corner of eye. Then dot the highlight onto the eye with Daisy Cream. 6. For additional gloss, apply Clear Coat. Garden Stakes 1. Basecoat entire piece in Cloud White. 2. Paint flower centers and angels’ hair Fiesta Yellow; faces, hands and feet Daisy Cream; leaves Sprout Green and Fern Green; and script Sprout Green. Allow to dry. 3. Antique some flowers with Golden Honey, for added contrast and interest. 4. Dry-brush Foxglove Pink across some flowers, as shown in photo, and flesh areas of angels. Dry-brush Fern Green over leaves. Wipe a flat sponge loaded with Fern Green across raised letters. 5. Use pencil to write “Rabbit Crossing” on small stake and paint letters Fern Green with liner brush. 6. For added sheen, apply Clear Coat to entire piece. |
