Instructions
 
Preparation - Transfer pattern for outline of houses. Cut three houses from 1/4” wood. From 1/8” wood, cut 3 window sills, 2 fence cross pieces, 3 window awnings, 3 roofs and 3 door roofs. Glue roofs, awnings, sills and fence pieces to houses with wood glue (or use small nails). Drill 3 holes in the edge of each house where it will join the others (see photo).

Painting Instructions
Use #12 flat brush unless otherwise specified. Basecoat all three chimneys Rookwood Red and fences and fence pieces Bittersweet Chocolate.
House #1: Basecoat with Silver Sage Green. Window awning and door:
Russet. Roof, window sill and door roof: Deep Midnight Blue. House #2: Basecoat with Dried Basil Green. Roof, window sill and door roof: Sable Brown. Window awning and door: Evergreen. House #3: Basecoat Cashmere Beige. Door and window awning: Black Plum. Roof, window sill and door roof: Royal Purple.

Sanding Instructions
1. Sand edges of all houses, chimneys, sills and window awnings, door roofs and fences. Sand heavily on areas where you want extra worn look. Wipe clean with tack cloth.

2. With damp rag, rub just enough Burnt Umber to get the antique look you like. Let dry.

3. Wire houses together. Bring wire from front of houses to back; twist wire together to secure.

4. Transfer pattern for details.

Painting Instructions
House #1:
1. Basecoat windows Desert Sand. Shade with Raw Sienna and line panes with Burnt Umber. Line around windows with black.

2. With #6 flat brush, basecoat bunny Camel. Shade with Raw Sienna. Dry-brush cheeks with Rookwood Red. Line bunny with Burnt Umber.

3. With #6 flat brush, basecoat soil Sable Brown; dot with Desert Sand.

4. With #6 flat brush, basecoat pot Burnt Orange; shade with Rookwood Red.

5. Line vine with Burnt Umber; leaves Evergreen with liner.

6. Watering can is Graphite, heart is Rookwood Red, lined with Desert Sand. Line door, fence and watering can with Lamp Black.

House #2:
1. Paint windows same as House #1.

2. Basecoat seed packet French Vanilla. Shade with Raw Sienna. Basecoat checks Sapphire. Line word “seed” and packet with Lamp Black.

3. Basecoat bunny’s ears, face, hands and feet with Camel. Shade with Raw Sienna. Dry blush cheeks with Rookwood Red. Line with Burnt Umber. Basecoat bunny’s blouse French Vanilla and shade with Raw Sienna. Dot buttons black. Paint overalls Deep Midnight Blue, lined with Desert Sand. Paint birdhouse Golden Straw, dry-brushed with French Vanilla. Line roof with Dried Basil Green. Dot hole black. Cuffs on overalls are Black Plum. Basecoat Bunny’s hat Sable Brown. Band around brim of hat is Burnt Umber. Line crosshatching area under brim with Burnt Umber.

4. Basecoat clay pot Burnt Orange and shade with Rookwood Red. Line vines with Burnt Umber. Leaves are Evergreen. Tulips are Sapphire and Golden Straw. Line pot and bows under tulips with black.

House #3:
1. Paint windows same as for House #1.

2. Basecoat clay pot in window with Rookwood Red. Basecoat flower with Golden Straw and leaves with Evergreen. Dot flower center with Bittersweet Chocolate. Line with black.

3. Basecoat bag of soil French Vanilla. Shade with Burnt Umber. Basecoat flower with Golden Straw. Dot center with Bittersweet Chocolate. Line stem with Burnt Umber and basecoat leaves with Evergreen. Basecoat checks with Sapphire. Line bag, stitching and bows tied to corners of bag with Bittersweet Chocolate. Birdhouse is Deep Midnight Blue with Rookwood Red roof. Dot hole black. Pole and bow are lined with Bittersweet Chocolate.

4. Basecoat soil Sable Brown. Dot with Desert Sand. Spade is Graphite with Rookwood Red handle. Line spade, soil and fence with black.

Finishing Instructions
1. Dry-brush all areas you want to highlight with French Vanilla. Let dry. Use spatter brush or old toothbrush to lightly spatter with Bittersweet Chocolate.

2. Tie floss through 3 small buttons; glue to window awnings. Cut 3 small pieces of fabric and make ties. Glue to tops of door windows.

3. Glue 3 small buttons to doors (for knobs).

4. Cut 3 hearts from rusted tin and glue and nail to roofs.

5. Glue a small heart grapevine wreath to window of House #1. Glue grapevine twig to window sill of House #2. Tie twine bow to round wreath and glue to door roof.

6. Spray houses with matte sealer. Helpful Hint: You can enlarge this small screen to make a window screen or even larger for a fireplace screen.
