Instructions
 
Preparation
Wash bucket in soapy water, rinse in vinegar, let dry thoroughly. Prime with metal primer.

Painting Instructions
1. Basecoat the bucket with Rookwood Red and paint a three-inch Lamp Black area (the area behind the fruit)) around the circumference of the bucket. Then paint the inside of the bucket with Lamp Black. The trim is Golden Straw.

2. Trace design on tracing paper and place over Black area of the design. It will be easier to transfer the design if you cut the tracing paper to fit the bucket.

3. Leaves: Lamp Black, Hauser Dark, Hauser Medium and Hauser Light Green. Some leaves are painted Golden Straw. Refer to photograph.

4. Watermelon: Basecoat Napthol Red + Titanium (Snow) White. Rind is Titanium White, Green rind is Mistletoe. Seeds are Lamp Black. Drybrush some Light Buttermilk on the upper red area.

5. Cantaloupe: Basecoat Viridian Green + a touch of Prussian Blue. Skin: Mix Titanium White + a touch of Yellow Ochre. Using a Liner Brush, sweep brush back and forth in a circular motion.

6. Pineapple: Basecoat Golden Straw. Highlight left side of pineapple with Light Buttermilk. Cross-hatching is Dark Chocolate. Leaves are Hauser Medium Green. Highlight with Golden Straw, shade with Cherry Red.

7. Peach: Basecoat with Golden Straw. Shade with Cherry Red. Highlight with Cadmium Yellow, then highlight again in Light Buttermilk. Sponge Titanium White in the middle area for last highlight.

8. Apples: Basecoat Cherry Red, shade with Deep Burgundy.
#1 Highlight is Tangerine.
#2 Highlight is Cadmium Yellow.
#3 Highlight is Light Buttermilk.
Final strong highlight is Titanium White. Stem is Dark Chocolate with Light Buttermilk highlight.

9. Pears: Basecoat Golden Straw and shade with Cherry Red. Second darker shading is Deep Burgundy.
#1 Highlight is Bright Green.
#2 Highlight is Cadmium Yellow.
#3 Highlight is Light Buttermilk.
Add a final strong Titanium White highlight. Stem is Dark Chocolate with Light Buttermilk highlight on the left side of stem.

10. Strawberries: Basecoat Cherry Red. Shade Deep Burgundy.
#1 Highlight is Tangerine.
#2 Highlight is Cadmium Yellow.
#3 Highlight is Light Buttermilk.
Strawberry leaves are Hauser Medium Green. Highlight with Golden Straw. Seeds are Lamp Black with a touch of Golden Straw on the left side.

11. Pink Grapes: Basecoat Boysenberry + a touch of Golden Straw + Titanium White. Shade with Cherry Red. Highlight Light Buttermilk. Final highlight is Titanium White.

12. Blue Grapes: Basecoat Country Blue + Titanium White. Shade with Blueberry, then shade again with Navy Blue. Highlight with Light Buttermilk. Final highlight is Titanium White.

13. Green Grapes: Basecoat Olive Green + Cadmium Yellow + Titanium White. Shade with Cherry Red. Highlight with Buttermilk. Final highlight is Titanium White.

14. Blossoms: Paint Light Buttermilk with Tangerine centers. NOTE: All highlights are on the left side and each highlight is smaller in size than the preceding one. Remember to use very little paint when you float on your highlights.
