1. Glue the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 16" pieces together to create the bar stool seat. To create the butcher block effect, cut the pieces to different lengths and alternate pieces when you glue the pieces, as long as the final dimension is larger than a 14" x 14" square.

2. Cut a 14" diameter circle out of the glued up squares. Round over the edges with a router and drill the bottom of it as shown in figure A-1. Holes are 1/2" deep.

3. Round over the edges of the 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 30" pieces for the legs. Cut and drill the leg as shown in figure A-2.

4. Make the leg braces (4) 6 1/4" long using the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 13" hardwood squares. Two of the braces get drilled with 1/2" holes 1/2" deep at the centers of their ends. The 2 get placed on the legs with dowel rod where the holes were drilled 12" down.

5. Make the top braces (2) as shown in figure A-3 using the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 13" hardwood squares.

6. Sand all pieces. You then may assemble all pieces using the 1/2" dowel rod where necessary. Use the 4 screws to attach the seat to the base with the legs. Use glue on all other pieces that are not screwed.

7. Once the assembly is complete you may now sand and finish.
