        Instructions
     
    PREPARATION
    1. Mark and cut 22"x28" rectangle
    from Kreative Kansas, using sewing or craft scissors. Round the edges.
    2. Basecoat with Moon Yellow, using foam brush. Let dry.
    3. Soak sea sponge in water, squeeze out as much as possible, and use to sponge on 1:1 mixture of Faux Glazing Medium or Brush ‘n Blend and Buttermilk. Allow some of the Moon Yellow basecoat to show through. Let dry.
    4. Transfer shell and coral patterns, placing corner shells 2" from edge.

    PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
    Note: Use wet into wet technique; add more paint if paint begins to dry before desired result is achieved.

    Large Nautilus Shell
    1. Referring to pattern for color placement, basecoat light portion of outer shell with Desert Sand, using #10 flat brush.
    2. While still wet, shade edges with Khaki Tan, using same brush; blend wet edges together.
    3. While still wet, shade last 1/8" of shell with Milk Chocolate. Blend Milk Chocolate and Khaki Tan.
    4. Highlight center portion of shell with Buttermilk. Let dry.
    5. Mix a bit of Milk Chocolate with Brush ’n Blend for a sheer glaze.
    6. Add stripes, using Milk Chocolate glaze and #3 round brush.
    7. Basecoat dark portion of shell Burnt Umber; shade Bittersweet Chocolate; highlight Milk Chocolate.
    8. Paint stripes Bittersweet Chocolate mixed with Brush ‘n Blend. Let dry; dry-brush center of shell with White Wash, following coil shape.
    9. Paint shell opening Bittersweet Chocolate, highlighting with touch of Burnt Umber.

    Sand Dollar
    1. Using #10 flat brush, basecoat with White Wash. Shade edges with Grey Sky, Desert Tan and touch of Williamsburg Blue. Do not overblend.
    2. Let dry; apply center pattern. Thin Williamsburg Blue with Brush ‘n Blend; basecoat center details, using #3 round brush.
    3. Let dry; fill in basecoated areas with small choppy streaks of thinned White Wash, using #3 round brush.

    Large Green Shell
    1. Using #10 round brush, basecoat outside of shell Jade Green. Working one coiled section at a time, shade with Green Mist and a touch of Williamsburg Blue; highlight Buttermilk.
    2. Basecoat shell opening French Mocha; highlight Buttermilk.
    3. Basecoat turned back portions with Buttermilk; shade Desert Sand; highlight White Wash.

    Large Scallop Shell
    1. Using #10 round brush, basecoat each rib with Desert Sand; shade each with Khaki Tan and touch of French Mocha, beginning with center rib; highlight White Wash.
    2. Basecoat two triangle-shaped sections at bottom of shell Desert Sand; shade Khaki Tan; highlight White Wash. Add stripes of French Mocha, using photos as guide.

    Blue and White Striped Shell
    1. Basecoat White Wash, using #10 round brush.
    2. Using #3 round brush, shade Desert Sand and a touch of Williamsburg Blue.
    3. Thin Williamsburg Blue with Brush ‘n Blend and apply stripes, using #3 round brush. Let dry; then dry-brush center of shell with White Wash, following coil shape.

    Small Green Shell
    1. Using #10 round brush, basecoat body Jade Green; shade Green Mist; highlight Buttermilk and White Wash.
    2. Thin Green Mist with Brush ‘n Blend and add shell detail.
    3. Paint inside Gooseberry Pink.

    Coral
    Using #10 round brush, basecoat Gooseberry Pink. Shade randomly with Antique Rose; highlight with Buttermilk and White Wash.

    Stripes
    1. Measure and mark a line 2" from the edge of the floor cloth. Using 3/4" flat brush, paint line with very thin mixture of Green Mist and Brush ‘n Blend. Let dry.
    2. Using 3/4" flat brush, apply stripes of a thin mixture of Gooseberry Pink and Brush ‘n Blend, spacing about 1-1/2" apart. Let dry.
    3. Using #3 round brush, add mini-stripes of thinned Williamsburg Blue to both sides of each pink stripe. Let dry.

    FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
    Apply at least 2 coats DuraClear Satin with foam brush.
