        Instructions
     
    PREPARATION
    1. Paint an area on the front of the shelf slightly larger than the pattern Light Buttermilk, feathering the edges.

    2. When dry, lightly sand the edges, if needed, to enhance the feather look.

    3. Paint large routered edge Pumpkin and smaller edge Black Forest Green.

    4. Stain entire piece Maple.

    5. Use dampened sea sponge to blot away excess stain where the design is, allowing it to be lightest in the center. Rub remainder of stain away with paper towels. Let dry. Use your finger to rub Easy Blend Glorious Gold over the edges.

    6. Transfer pattern.

    PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS

    Shelf
    Cornucopia
    1. Load the angle brush with Honey Brown. Dip short side into Milk Chocolate and long bristles into Golden Straw. Create “C” strokes to form the tunnel and “S” strokes to make the rim.

    2. Shade behind the leaves and rim with Dark Chocolate.

    3. Load the wing brush with Dark Chocolate and apply the paint one third of the way up from the bottom and one third of the way down from the top of the rim and the tunnel.

    4. Highlight the center of both the rim and tunnel using the wing brush loaded with Marigold. Lightly outline with Dark Chocolate.

    5. Paint the inside of the opening Dark Chocolate and shade around everything with Lamp Black.

    Pumpkin
    1. Basecoat with Pumpkin.

    2. Shade crevices with Heritage Brick. Highlight opposite the shading first with Light Buttermilk and then with Marigold.

    3. The unripened lines are Black Forest Green.

    4. The stem is Light Buttermilk shaded with Dark Chocolate. Add a few detail lines with Milk Chocolate.

    5. Paint vine Light Buttermilk with a little Black Forest Green and Milk Chocolate running through it.

    Pumpkin Leaves
    1. Basecoat Marigold.

    2. Shade base and lower outside edges of the tips Black Forest Green. Burnish opposite shading with a float of Heritage Brick.

    3. Use dry deerfoot brush to lightly tap in the center with Black Forest Green.

    4. Outline and add veins with Black Forest Green.

    Gourd
    1. Basecoat with Antique White.

    2. The very bottom is Pumpkin. While still wet, add some Marigold just above it and allow colors to feather together. Use dry deerfoot brush to lightly tap in Black Forest Green stripes.

    3. Lightly tap Light Buttermilk with dampened sea sponge over all.

    4. Add a shaky Black Forest Green line through the center of each stripe.

    5. Outline and detail the bottom with Black Forest Green.

    Grapes
    1. Basecoat with Summer Lilac.

    2. Shade the bottom half and where one lies behind the other with Royal Purple. Add a deeper shading under some of the grapes with Lamp Black.

    3. Add a light wash of Royal Purple over all.

    4. Use the dry deerfoot brush to tap in the Light Buttermilk highlight over the top two-thirds of each grape.

    5. Outline with Royal Purple.

    Corn
    1. Basecoat with Marigold.

    2. Re-transfer pattern. Randomly paint some of the kernels Heritage Brick, Honey Brown and Lamp Black.

    3. Outline with Dark Chocolate and highlight with a dot of Light Buttermilk.

    4. Reduce the Maple stain slightly with water and apply to the corn. Use the dampened cotton swab to remove stain from center of each kernel.

    5. Shade behind the husk with Dark Chocolate.

    6. Paint the husk Light Buttermilk. Use the wing brush to pull strokes of Honey Brown, followed by Dark Chocolate. Shade edges with Dark Chocolate.

    Oak Leaves
    1. Basecoat Pumpkin.

    2. Highlight tips with Marigold and shade the curves with Heritage Brick.

    3. Use dry deerfoot brush to lightly tap Heritage Brick through the center.

    4. Outline and add veins with Heritage Brick.

    Indian Corn
    1. Paint pumpkin and leaf cut-outs as described in shelf instructions.

    2. Untwist the paper and tie a simple bow.

    3. Glue the pumpkin to the center of the bow and the leaf to the lower right side of the pumpkin.
