Corkboard
From "School
Daze" Episode DIK-309
Materials:
Cork sheet (1/8" thick) Cardboard Rubber cement Hot
glue Scissors Ruler Craft sticks Paint pens Pen Paper
clips Frame (16" x 24" -- or whatever you can find)
- Measure and cut 1 piece of cork and 2 pieces of cardboard to fit
inside the frame.
- In a WELL-VENTILATED AREA, brush rubber cement onto one side of the
cork and one side of the cardboard; let dry 5 minutes. Line up the edges
and glue them together (figure A). Repeat the gluing process for
the 2 sheets of cardboard.
- Insert cork and cardboard into the frame.
- On the back of the frame, place a bead of hot glue around the edges
to secure the cardboard (figure B).
- Decorate the frame as you like with paint pens.
- Open two paper clips and hot-glue them to the back of the cardboard
to make hangers (figure C).
Tips:
- If your frame has glass, have an adult help you carefully take the
glass out and dispose of it properly. We used a poster frame so we
didn't have to worry about the glass.
- Have an adult supervise anytime you use scissors and hot glue.
- Make sure you have good ventilation when using rubber cement -- the
fumes are stinky and got very good for you. Go outside if you can.
